PlateLens Privacy Policy

PlateLens uses your meal photos only to estimate nutrition, then deletes them.

What We Collect

We collect your Sign in with Apple identifier, your optional Apple email and display name, your subscription status, and device push tokens for notifications you opt into.

To calculate your targets you may provide profile details: sex, age, height, weight, your goal, the cuisines you eat, and whether you use a GLP-1 medication. You can use the app without providing these, and you can edit or clear them anytime.

We store the meals you log — the photo, the dish, and its macros — so you can see your history and trends.

How Your Photos Are Used

When you scan a meal, the photo is uploaded over an encrypted connection and sent to our AI vision provider solely to identify the food in it. The identified food is then used to estimate your calories and macros. Your photos are never used to train models, never sold, and never shared for advertising.

Estimates are produced automatically and are approximate by nature — you can correct any of them.

Retention And Deletion

Meal photos are deleted automatically within 48 hours of upload; the dish name and macros stay in your log so your history is preserved without keeping the image.

Deleting your account from within the app immediately and permanently removes your photos, your meal logs, your profile, and your account record from our systems.

Your Health Data

Details like your weight, goal, and GLP-1 status are used only to compute your targets and personalize your coach recap. They are stored privately against your account, are never sold, never used for advertising, and never used to train models. PlateLens does not connect to Apple Health.

No Tracking

PlateLens has no third-party advertising, no tracking SDKs, and does not sell your data. We use your data only to run the service, process purchases, provide support, and prevent abuse.
